Mustang Music

Beginning band is a class for all beginning instrumental musicians. Beginning band teaches students to

properly handle instruments while enhancing skills in team building, tone production, ear training,

music reading and notation in addition to performing at scheduled concerts. Students will have the

option to start on one of the following instruments:

• Flute

• Oboe

• Clarinet

• Alto Saxophone

• French Horn

• Trumpet

• Trombone

• Baritone

• Tuba

• Percussion (Mallet & Snare)

Students will also need the Sound Innovations for Concert Band Book 1 (blue) for their instrument.  Available here and at other online retailers and soon Jim's Music.  Students do need to provide their own book as we will be writing in it and using it the entire year.  Percussion students will need the Combined Percussion Book.  Each book comes with online media components for students to watch and listen to in order to enhance their practice and skills.
